Many people recognize me as Willow Rose Grace, the name I have legally given myself as an adult. I chose the surname of Grace because it took the grace of God to forgive what my child-self Stephanie Lynn Carson endured.

When abuse of a child is allowed to continue within an organized setting of a church a deeper wound of Spiritual Abuse occurs which oftentimes turns the child against God when they grow into adulthood. Herein is the underlying “Satanic” influence of these secrets our clergy have been allowed to keep for generations. The curse continues and eventually we don’t know why the world has turned from good to bad.

As a child I was trafficked for well over a decade by those I most trusted. But the worst of my abuse was watching my brother disappear as a runaway at age 15 while none of the adults in our close-knit community of Jehovah’s Witnesses alerted the authorities of his disappearance. For doing so would bring attention to the larger issue at hand which was the sexual abuse of myself, my brother and many other children within our congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Corry Pennsylvania during the ’80’s and 90’s. In 2019 my husband, also a survivor, and myself testified to a Grand Jury in the State of Pennsylvania about these abuses. Today our advocacy continues, but we all must do our part to protect the children of God!

Thirty years later my brother Douglas Ray Carson passed due to the heroin epidemic. Which is when I learnt he had a child who, like his father, was homeless and had no hope. His son was not yet a full year of age and would likely never come to realize his fate was due to the harmful child protection policies of the institution in which his father and I had been raised. As an adult I began to advocate for my nephew, and for his father before him, and for myself and the others I knew who had been harmed by this “privilege” of secrecy given our clergy by the governments of this and other nations. Six times and in three separate states thus far I have attempted to close the loophole in the law that allows these “sins” to go unpunished for the crimes they are. I first began in 2019 with others seeking reform in California with SB-360, then continued on alone until recently when I joined my efforts with other anti-trafficking forces across the globe for a far reaching campaign for justice. We are focusing our efforts upon the cults of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Mormons, Scientology, and other well known religious groups who do not properly protect their most vulnerable members.

In 2021 I published a small book titled Paying for the Sins of Others-Protecting Our Children by Reviewing Our Stolen Patriotism penned under my childhood name Stephanie Lynn Carson. In it I advocate for legislation reform for both the religious loophole which allows such crimes to repeat and for the return of our nation to a more prideful state by revoking the SCOTUS ruling on the compulsory flag salute.

There is no atonement for what I and others have been allowed to suffer. The only opportunity for justice for these victims, including myself, will come from patriots who truly love freedom and from those willing to expose the systematic abuse of our nation’s children which have been molded into weapons of destruction. John Adams famously stated that the Constitution was written for a moral and religious people and is wholly inadequate for a government of any other. As a nation we must demand our moral institutions be moral in order to ensure our survival.

The best revenge is total recovery.

Total recovery can only occur when we join our voices together as one thunderous plea for redress to those who hold the power to bring about change in our legislation surrounding child protective policies. For this reason I have conjoined my efforts to seek justice with WOW. I am now asking all of you to lift your voices together with that of mine and these organizations to subvert the cause of much of the despair our children have suffered by way of silence within institutional religious settings.

This silence inflicted upon our most precious is known in legal terms as Clergy Penitent Privilege Exemption. It is the religious loophole in the mandatory reporting of crimes committed against children. This nation, and our world as we have come to know it, cannot survive if we allow these secrets to continue to be kept by those proving themselves to be unholy, yet still wish us to call them men of God. Our clergy, elders, priests and rabbis must do better. We, the people, demand this of them.

Now is our time for justice and redress in the form of legislative reform and criminal sanctions. But first our voices must be heard unignorably as one. So, please join the fight for the children, which is your fight. Redress forms can be downloaded directly from the WOW website.
